PMI has over 1,500 R.E.P.s in more than 80 countries;  these R.E.P.s primarily represent:

  • commercial training and educatiional films
  • academic institutions - universities, colleges, and community colleges
  • internal training departments of corporations
  • government agencies

Program History

The R.E.P. program was created in 1999.  Its primary purpose was to establish a global network of quality education providers for hundreds of thousands of PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential holders to maintain their credentials with required Professional Development Units (PDUs).  Because the PMP credential and several other PMI credentials, require continuing professional education, credential holders must earn PDUs every three years to keep their credentials current and relevant.  Unlike other associations, that require only passing an examination for their certifications, PMI requires that its credential holders maintain educational training and experience to keep their credentials current and relevant.
